Dalian Atkinson murder trial
It's ambitious of the CPS to charge the officer with murder, for which intention to cause at least grievous bodily harm is required. If using a Taser (even multiple times) is evidence of an intention to cause GBH, you wonder why they are authorised for police use at all. Assuming the jury finds that the cop was acting unlawfully, manslaughter seems a more likely verdict.

Re: Dalian Atkinson murder trial
The bloke clearly is guilty of Manslaughter and it was the right verdict.

The woman, as far as I can tell from reporting, is alleged to have hit Atkinson three times and never near the head. Where is the "twenty times" reference coming from?

Given the jury couldn't reach a verdict on her, it's clearly less open and shut. Hitting a huge fucker who did pose a threat does not automatically equate to assault. Given the jury's lack of conclusion, it seems they found it a grey area too.

Yes Crassus - Spot on No excuse!.

From what I also gather she wacked him up to 20 times from his neck to his legs- people would be arrested if they did this to an animal let alone a human. It was said he "egged" her to hit him repeatingly.

PS Vexed, the same thing happen to WHITE rugby player in Spain and it did made the news.

Most sane minded people were shocked that an ex Premiership/ England international football player was killed by the hands of the police, that how most people looked at it nothing more!

Can't disagree with any of that, resonates with all logic
No excuse for kicking the shit out of his head when he was down by way of excessive tasering
Same for the bitch that played xylophone on his ribs, hope that fucker gets a long stretch of long stretching by an Arthur come Martha in a birds nick too

Its clear that this "Constable Savage" acted OTT in front of his girlfriend/copper, to show how masculine , in dealing with a "supposed violent assailant" .His male pride took over. He was no different to a thug on a Friday/Saturday night, having to kick a man in the head three times who happen to be lying prostrated on the floor.

Not to mention his bitch side kick (no pun) who struck Atkinson a number of times over his back and thighs.

I can imagine how much you might want to boot someone who had been extremely violent towards you and your colleague so can understand in a way. But as an old bill to boot someone in the face is bang out of order and and he deserves to go down.

Not supporting Chauvin or anything like that but, I am sure that he had no intention of killing Floyd, the copper in this case sounds brutal. The difference between this case and Floyd is that her there wasn't a public lynch mob baying for blood and a succession of defence lawyers telling the world he was guilty before the trial even started.

Based on the evidence in the public domain, this seems like the correct decision

33 minutes?

On the negative side he's dead.

On the plus side his family can plug him into the mains and power their home for the next 18 months

Tasered for 33mins?
Have they eliminated the possibility that it was Gary Shaw they tasered and the body has been misidentified as Dalian Atkinson?

I find myself feeling sorry for the coppers in these type of situations, as although they likely went too far, they almost certainly didn’t mean to kill him and now their life is turned upside down due to a couple of poor decisions.

Then I remember it’s WMP and I think they deserve everything that’s coming to them
